Hello and Merry Christmas! I want to welcome you into my home this holiday season for a quick Christmas Home Tour of our downstairs living area. I am so very excited to finally be sharing my 2021 Home Tour with you all here on the blog because, with everything going on this holiday season, I honestly didn’t think that I would get it done – but I surprised myself!!!! Thank goodness!
If you follow along with me on Instagram (click here to join the fun), then you know that I love to decorate for the Christmas season. Each year for the holidays, I try to weave in my vintage Christmas collections throughout my home and I try really hard to do this in a way that is not too overwhelming (because, let’s face it, I have a lot of vintage Christmas). I also like to try and mix it up each year too. It is fun for me to get creative with the little vintage Christmas collections that I have.
As I have explained before, our downstairs living area is an open floor plan concept so I try really hard to create “areas” with intention throughout this (and every) area.
Entryway and Dining Room
The entryway and dining room are the first thing that you will see when you walk into our home. As you walk through the front door you will immediately see a huge green antique cupboard in the entryway. I love to deck it our for the holidays and this year I filled it with all of my vintage plastic and celluloid deer! The dark green color just lends itself to be dolled up for Christmas.
The dining room is just opposite of the green cupboard. I like to put a tree in the corner and this year I added in a few clip candles – I love the way it turned out! (Side Note – Would you believe that I got this table and chairs at a yard sale for just $200!) I also added a little buffalo snow into a few of the jars in the dining room and I also added a few deer on the shelves as well. I thought it would be nice to have deer in both of cupboards in this area. I love how these deer sort of looks like they are in a winter forest!
Walkway Into The Kitchen
I wanted to just share how this little walkway into the kitchen turned out. These two pieces are new to our home this year and I enjoyed adding a few holiday touches to these spaces here in this walkway!
Kitchen
Just like you probably do, we spend most of our family time in the kitchen. Because of that, I usually like to keep my counters pretty clear. But during the holidays, I enjoy adding a few Christmas touches here and there.
Like these kitchen shelves…
And this little hot coca bar …
And this little ginger bread area …
I really love these sweet little holiday moments around the kitchen.
Breakfast Room
We eat each and every meal around this table in the evenings – and I love that I have the opportunity to make it festive for those meals. This year, I added in some Santa faces into my cupboard and I added some bowling pins onto my little tree there on the buffet.
I also have this white cupboard in our breakfast area (on the other side of the table). I have filled it for the holidays as well with a few festive pieces. I never have both doors open at once, and I switch from side to side as I see fit. Sometimes, I even leave them both closed!
Living Room
I usually go “lite” in this space because it is rather small. I like to add a little garland (the same one for the last several years – you do not always have to buy new) and I always have my little sled that I got at an estate sale long ago. This year I did something new and I added in a little concrete deer – that I took right out of my parents yard! I tucked him in with some oversized pinecones and a few Norfolk Pine!
I love to add pillows on this couch (year round) but I can tell ya that my family does not share the same passion for pillows like I do!
Our family Christmas tree is a live tree and is located in our living room as well – just to the left of the couch. Our tree is full of family ornaments that the kids (and Mark and I) put on together as a family. There is no rhyme or reason to how we add them to the tree – but somehow, each year, the tree is absolutely perfect!
Thank You And Merry Christmas
I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas Home Tour! Thank you so much for swinging by to read all about the spaces that I love here in my (weathered) home. I do want to thank my sweet husband for supporting me and all of my crazy Christmas ideas!
From my home to yours, Merry Christmas!
I love sharing my home with you all here on the blog. I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year as well!

How lucky for you to find that table and chairs for $200!! Did you need to refinish or paint it….anything? It looks like a really, really nice table!

Nope – I didn’t do a thing except clean it really well and a few years ago we recovered the seats ourselves with drop cloth

Such a lovely tour. You decorate soooo well I’m particularly loving the area with the tiny bowling pins. Red and brown/natural are one of my favorite combinations. So interesting and lovely without being overdone.
It’s great fun isn’t it? Merry Christmas to you and yours🎄
