There’s something about pinecones that immediately makes a space feel cozy and inviting. Maybe it’s their woodsy feel or their organic shape. Whatever the reason, pinecones are a great way to add a touch of nature to your home décor. And with a little bit of creativity, they can be used in a variety of ways. Read on for tips on how to make pinecone decor that will perfectly complement your home.
Pinecone Candles
Let’s start with something that is almost a no brainer. Pinecone candles are a great way to add natural decor to your home. Not only do they smell wonderful (well, mine smells like cinnamon), but they also look great. You can find pinecone candles in a variety of colors such as yellow and orange and brown, so there are indeed options to match your home. You can click here for a great NEW pinecone candle option! If you prefer ‘faux candles’ then I have got you covered! Check out these flameless candles!
Pinecone Plates
Pinecone plates are a beautiful addition to any table, and they can be used for both formal and informal occasions. You can also find pinecone plates in a variety of colors patterns (like the turquoise ones above), but – most of the vintage ones that I see are usually dark green in color. These pinecone plates are a great way to add a touch of nature to your table setting. Click here to see a great pinecone pattern.
Pinecone Cuckoo Clock Weights
I like to use these pinecone clock weights as decor – especially during the cooler months and there are several ways to incorporate them into your home. Of course you can use them as a paperweight or to hold down the corners of your tablecloth or picnic blanket on a windy day, but I have really prefer to use them as charming bookends or decorations for a mantelpiece or windowsill. In the past, I have also added a bit of ribbon/string/twine to them and have hung them. But honestly, my favorite way is to place a few in a bowl and add to any shelf or table. Whatever way you choose to use them, pinecone cuckoo weights are sure to add a touch of warmth and charm to your home.
Real Pinecones
Real pinecones are the best way (in my opinion) to add a natural touch to your home and there are many ways to use pinecones in your home. Here are a few ideas:
• Place a few pinecones in a bowl on your coffee table.
• Add a few pinecones to your centerpiece on the dinner table.
• Use pinecones as part of your wreath or garland.
• Stick a few pinecones in each pot of your indoor plants.
Tip: I like to bleach the real pinecones that I find out in the woods behind our house. You can click here to see my process!
Pinecone Sculpter
I love finding new and unusual vintage pieces and this old weathered pinecone is definitely just that! I do however certainly see other various pinecone sculptures here and there during my antiquing adventures and they are perfect to use around the house!
