5 Things That Make My Life Easier Right Now: Fridays At 5:00

The month of August is usually the start of a ‘reset’ for our family. It is a time where each person in our family transitions from the relaxation that comes with lazy summer days into a much more rigid schedule. Our kids go back to school at the beginning of August and every year it seems like the hectic season that comes with beginning of the school year seems to take us by surprise. Today I am sharing 5 things that make my life easier right now! This season of life can be busy, but there are a few things that I have found that absolutely are helping me as we slide back into the beginning of a new school year.

This Phone Charger

So I got this phone charger a few weeks ago and it is really saved me several times. Now, I will admit, this phone charger is a bit more bulky than others that I have had, but what is amazing is that it will charge my phone several times before I need to plug the charger in! This Paper Calendar

I have used the same style of calendar for as long as I can remember. I prefer a calendar that shows a full month at a glance (instead of a day or a week at a glance). I always search for ones that have large boxes for each day so that I lots of room to write! I just picked this one up and I am in love with it! This New Mom Bag

About two weeks ago I picked up this ‘mom bag’ and I am in love. It is the perfect bag (both well made and stylish in my opinion) to throw in all of the things that I need for the day. If you have been following along with me on IG for any amount of time then you know that I have only had a very small cross body purse. This Car Organizer

With all the backpacks and lunch boxes and after school stuff that my kids have, this car organizer seems like it is going to be the perfect solution for all of the car rides in our future – once school starts. P.S. Here Are 6 Additional Quick Tips:

Freeze A Wet Sponge: I will sometimes freeze a fresh, wet sponge inside a resealable bag to use as an ice pack in the kids lunch boxes. Then, once the kids are done eating, they can clean themselves up!

Sort The All The Papers: I use galvanized paper sorters like these to sort all of the papers that come home from school. I have three of them – one for each child!

Organizing Meals: I use a Meal Pad like this one to plan out my meals each and every week! It alleviates a lot of stress during the busy week!

Set A Timer: I often set a timer – just like this one – for both myself and for my kids to do small tasks around the house. For example, at the end of each day I set a timer for 5 minutes and I ask the kids to “see a need a fill it.” Which means that I would like them to clean something around the house – even if it is not their mess.

Use These When Writing: I use these all the time and so do my kiddods! These erasable gel pens are an amazing invention and I use them around the house and my kids use them at school! I promise, you will love them!
