Old Or New: Some Of My Favorite Things

I recently shared a ‘new to me” twine dispenser that I picked up at a local antique mall. I got it for a fair price and I was very excited to share the new purchase with my Instagram friends. Many people mentioned that they too wanted a twine dispenser like the one I found and that got me thinking! I wanted to see a few of the ‘kinds’ of twine dispensers out there. I did a little digging and found a decent number of old ones and new ones online. I gathered a few of the ones online that I liked most and shared them with my IG family. There was a healthy mix of old ones and new ones in the ‘collection’ and I got a lot of positive feedback about offering a mix of old and new. You can see them here.

This Made Me Think

That got me thinking… there must be other ‘things’ out there that people are interested in that come in both an OLD and NEW version. And, after a little thinking and a little digging, I did indeed find a few! I am excited to be sharing a few finds from around the web that are both OLD and NEW! And …. I want to know …. which would you prefer … OLD or NEW?

PITCHERS

I saw the NEW pitcher at Walmart the other day and I was surprised at how much it looked like an ironstone pitcher. While I know that it is NOT a true vintage piece, I sure do like the price a whole lot better! You can shop both pitchers by clicking the images below!

CLOCKS

I really do love old clocks. I have quite a few. But I thought this wall clock was a really good replica. BUT, my heart will always lean towards the old weathered clocks! You can shop both pitchers by clicking the images below!

STONEWARE

This reproduction crock from Target is a pretty good recreation but you simply can not beat the wear and tear and character that comes with the OLD one. Again, though, that price on the NEW one is very appealing to me and maybe to some of you! I love the shape of the NEW one as well. You can shop both pitchers by clicking the images below!

JADEITE

If I am being honesy, I have a very healthy mix of OLD and NEW jadeite in my collection. I guess I am not super picky when it comes to jadeite. While I prefer a more rare, OLD piece, sometimes I just can’t pass up the new stuff at low prices! With that said, you can find NEW jadeite all over the place. Wrap Up

What we choose to decorate our homes with is such a personal choice. Some of us like New and some of us like Old and some like a good mix. I think that, while I feel that I am indeed an old soul, I do enjoy a mix of both. What about you? Let me know!
