This week for my Fridays At 5:00 Blog series and today I am sharing just a few more Patriotic ideas for your home! These are things that I am adding in at the last minute and my hope is that even if you have been busy with life (like me) it is not too late!
The last few months have been kind of crazy around here. With all the traveling that we have been doing (in addition to the kitchen remodel) I just have not really been able to go “all out” like I normally do for the Fourth of July. However, there are a few more things that I want to add into my home before the holiday comes and goes and I am sharing them with you all right here.
Uncle Sam Blow Molds
This is by far my favorite patriotic decor item to have around the house this time of year and I can not believe that I just pulled them out of storage today! My dad found this set of Uncle Sam blow molds for me a few years ago and I am just so taken with them. They are unique and charming and I am drawn to their vintage feel. These are not really old, only from the 90s, but I still love to pull them out every year. And, I am not going to let this year pass me by without putting them on display somewhere in this house!
Large Vintage Cotton Flag
My dad also found a huge old Bulldog vintage cotton flag for me. It is ginormous and heavy and perfect! I plan to hang it somewhere upstairs – since the entire downstairs is a mess right now because of our kitchen remodel! Last year I hung it from the fireplace mantle
American Flag Pillow Covers
I found these old burlap pillow covers at the Good Will a few years ago in the pillow section. I am normally very picky about pillows and such from thrift stores, but these were brand new and still all sealed up in the original packaging – SCORE! Just a friendly reminder to always check the ‘holiday’ sections at your thrift stores during the off seasons – you never know what gem you might find hiding in there. Last year I kept these on the front porch – this year I think I will put them out up stairs.
Vintage Spice Tins
I got several old spice tins a few weeks ago from an antique store and I have yet to ‘style’ them. (I threw something together really fast for this blog post so that you could see them.) I can not wait to play around with them just a little bit more! I just loved how patriotic and charming the colors are – simply perfect for the season!
Old Wooden Boxes With Hints Of Red, White, & Blue
I am ALWAYS on the lookout for thematic decor – both vintage and non vintage. I love decorating for all of the different holidays! With that in mind, I always pick up old boxes that have really cool labels or graphics or colors and the red, white, and blue ones always seem to pop out at me. For example, this old Dandy Mints box is a favorite of mine! And yup – you guessed it – my dad found that for me at an epic estate sale down in Florida – my picking hero!
Add These To Your Home Too
I love picking these kinds of items when ever I am out and about. I would encourage you to shop for Patriotic things all year long! You never know what you might find! I have included a few online items below just in case you enjoy shopping online. Simply click any picture below to check out the details on any of these pieces.
Wrap Up
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that this post reminds you that it is truly never too early to add in decor pieces that you love! And now I want to know – what is your favorite Patriotic decor piece that you add into your home? I want to know! I hope you all have a great weekend!
