Christmas Cabinet Styling With Creamers And Deer

I am not afraid to think outside of the box with my the items I use around the house. You might be surprised by what I decided to use In my mini Christmas cabinet!

A week or so ago, I was digging though piles of junk (which is something that I do from time to time in my line of work as an antique/vintage dealer) when I stumbled upon a really great box full of the most charming vintage creamers. Upon taking a closer look, I noticed the most subtle little green scallop on each and every one. As someone who LOVES to create displays with the old things that I find, this was certainly a great find for me. I scooped them up (among some other pretty amazing things) as fast as I could and washed them as soon as I got home.

Once I got them all cleaned up I began thinking of a way to use them around my house this holiday season. I always love groups of similar items and I knew that I could make them work – but I wasn’t initially sure how to do it. Last year I had similar creamers and I styled them with old tree shaped candles – you can see that look here. I liked the way that it turned out so much but I wanted to take a different spin on the idea!

I finally decided to pile the creamers into my little mini wall cabinet to create a charming little Christmas cabinet, which is actually hanging inside a larger cabinet! Ha!!! Once I decided where to put them, the rest fell into place – literally. I knew that I wanted to add in my new deer mold (on top of the mini cabinet) – because the creamers and mold were both ‘kitchen related.’

Once I grabbed the deer mold to add into the mx, I remembered that I had just purchased a really beautiful goat bell that had a deer ( …or elk or moose but we are calling in a deer for the sake of this blog post!!). It was the perfect small item to add into the cabinet – because the subject matter (deer) tied it together. That lead to me adding in a few more bells – including the strand of bells that were my dads when he was a young boy.

The icing on the cake were the trees that I stuffed inside the creamers and the vintage plastic deer that I popped into the corner there.

I love thinking outside of the box and using ‘unconventional’ items in and around my home – like a mass of old creamers stuffed inside a Christmas cabinet! I want to encourage you to do the same. Use what you love!
