What do you do to relax? After a long week I got out to do what I love- hunting for antiques/vintage & today I’m sharing 5 fun vintage finds!
We have had a very busy week here at My Weathered Home! If you have been following along on Instagram in stories (you can follow me here) then you know that we just added a huge back patio to allow for some much needed additional living space on the main level of our home (more on this to com eon the blog soon). My dad has always told me that when you have work don eon your home, you need to be there to make sure that everything runs smoothly. With that in mind, I haven’t really left the house much this week – until today. As the builders were finishing up, I decided to treat myself to a little vintage hunt and today I am sharing 5 fun vintage finds that I happily discovered!
This Egg Cup
This may seem like an odd purchase to some of you … but let me explain. As you may know, I shop thematically and seasonally for the decor that I use in my house and with summer just around the corner, I am on the hunt for patriotic decor. Now, I do not ONLY use seasonally specific pieces and so when I saw this random egg cup for only $7.00 with these brilliant red stripes, I knew that I would be able to easily incorporate it into my patriotic decor this upcoming season. (You can see more of my vintage patriotic decor ideas here.). I can not wait to get creative with this little “new-to-me” vintage piece.

Paint By Number
I love a good “paint by number” so when I laid eyes on this horse painting I was hooked. It was only $16.00 and I really liked the vibrant blues and greens in the background. It isn’t as ‘perfect’ as some paint by numbers are, but the price was right! I saw several other beautiful paint by numbers today but they were triple (or 4 times) the cost of this one. I am happy with my $16.00 purchase. My only complaint is that I didn’t find it last week – when I was prepping for the Kentucky Derby – HA!

Cherry Hand Towel
For a few years now I have picked up items with ‘vintage cherry’ graphics on them when I can find them for a good price. I was happy to find this little towel with the cutest vintage cherries for only $4.00. I love the pink and red combo too! I will happily add this piece to my growing “cherry pile” and I look forward to putting together a little ‘vintage cherry moment’ together this summer!

Brass Moose
I may have squealed a bit when I laid eyes on this $12.00 treasure. For some reason this brass moose reminded me of Christmas and I can not wait to add him into my heard of brass deer that I like to take out during the holidays. I think that he will fit right in at Christmas time.

Wooden Bowl
I am a complete sucker for a good wooden bowl so when I saw this one sitting on the floor of an antique booth for only $14.00 I scooped it right up! This piece is definitely not perfect – it has some cracks in the wood that appear to have been mended (and the mends didn’t hold). That doesn’t bother me though because I love the character. But, what I love most about this bowl is that it has the word “maple” and the name “Wendell Malin” carved on the bottom!

Wrap Up
It was a fun way to wrap up the week! I do love a good vintage hunt so this “filled my tank” in a big way! Did you have any fun finding some treasures today?! I want to know what you found!!!! Leave a comment below and let me know! Cheers to finding the next great piece!
Bonus:
I wasn’t totally sure that this was indeed an old piece but I wanted to include it anyway. This little goose (I am pretty sure it is concrete) will be a great addition to my white shelves upstairs. I have really been into collecting duck decoys this year and this one (although it isn’t a duck decoy by any means) really caught my attention. I can not ‘age’ it (and – these days – just because it is at an antique store doesn’t mean that it is old) but I liked the look of it very much. It reminded me of the decoys that I have and for only $8.00 I felt like it would make the perfect addition!

Today was a unexpected (most are lol) little thrifting jaunt and I managed to come home with a few lovelies a small scale, a beautiful pot and a not so vintage bird but like your goose? I had to have it $2 😁
