Do you like to go hunting for antique and vintage finds for your home? I sure do! I am sharing all of the cool finds that I snagged at Vintage Pickin!
Have you ever just felt like you were RIGHT WHERE YOU WERE MEANT TO BE? That is how I feel every single time I have the opportunity to attend Vintage Pickin.
I had the opportunity to drive out to Fort Payne, Alabama to attend Vintage Pickin, one of my very favorite antique markets, for their spring show. It is about a two and a half hour drive for me each way and it is totally worth it! I promise, if you are within driving distance you will not want to miss it!
Vintage Pickin is full of the best vintage and antique vendors from all around the country and they fill their booths with the very best selection of old goods. In all transparency, it can be so very hard for me (a seasoned buyer) to focus and know WHAT to buy when I am surrounded by so many beautiful and one-of-a-kind goods. In an effort to keep me focused, I took a look at my personal list of goods that I am hunting for in 2022 (you can see that list here) to help give me some direction – but in all honestly I couldn’t help but to deviate from that list! Can you blame me?
After about 6 hours of shopping (and talking to friends old and new) these are the things that I came home with!
What I Bought
An Old Sugar Tin
This is actually the last piece that I grabbed as I was leaving Vintage Pickin, but it was the first piece that I pulled out of the car. I plan to add this to the stack of old bread and cake tins that I have on top of my favorite white cabinet. I was shocked that it was still there towards the end of the first day honestly, but it was sitting sort of behind where her check out area was so I feel like maybe other shoppers may have missed it! Either way, I was so happy to snag it for that great price! Click Here to shop for similar tins!
Cast Iron Sheep
You may have missed it, but for Easter I created a little vignette with several sheep (both old and new) that I have collected over time. You can see that little vignette here. When I saw this particular sheep I just knew that it would fit perfectly in with the rest of them! I actually didn’t buy it right away. I decided to go eat first and then as soon as I was done eating (and had gotten a little energy boost), I ran right over to snag it. Have you ever done that? I am so happy that I didn’t miss it! Small Glass Churn
If you know me then you know that I enjoy small (aka: mini) things. I think this glass churn is so cute and as soon as I laid my eyes on it I knew I had to have it! Most glass butter churns that I have seen have a metal handle/mechanism that will crank and rotate a wooden paddle. This one is about the same size as those types – but mine has a wooden lid and a wooden dasher that you would move up and down to churn the cream. I think it will go well upstairs on my white shelves! Click Here to shop for old glass butter churns.
Old Duck Decoy
I have been on a literal duck hunt this year! Ha!!! This is the third wooden duck that I have been lucky enough to find and I really like this one because of the carved natural wood. You can literally see where the carving marks on this duck! Also, the head comes right off and for some reason I thought that was so much fun! Click Here to shop for similar ducks!
I love instant collections so I decided to grab a handful of these old spice bottles. I think they will make charming little bud vases for spring! Also, the worn sailboats are so so cool! Click Here for similar old spice bottles.
Charming Pillows
These pillows from my pal Blair from Maple and Dickerson are so stinking cute! She has been making these pillows out of old tattered quilts since about 2015 and she hand stitches each of them herself. I just love that each and every one is different. You can follow her over here on Instagram to see when she will release her next set of pillows!
Cement Morel Mushroom
In case you missed it, a few weeks ago my dad and I were able to find a few really great old cement mushrooms down in Florida. When I saw this cement morel mushroom I knew that I had to have it. I felt that it would work right in with my little budding mushroom garden! Click Here to shop for similar cement morel mushrooms.
Weathered Sugar Dish
You all know that I am drawn to things that are time worn and weathered. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise to you that I would be drawn to this little weathered sugar dish. It will make the most perfect ‘pixie plant’ planter and I think that I will put it up stairs right here!
I know what you are all thinking ….does Emily really need ANOTHER crock?!? Well, the answer is YES! I will always need another crock! In all seriousness, this one is a but smaller in size and I love to use them as planters. I don’t often see them in this smaller size in my area! Click Here to shop for similar crocks or you can click here for one just like this one!
Charming Chick Pitcher
This sweet little Roseville chick pitcher will be the perfect addition to my Easter set up next year! I was drawn to this piece because of the little yellow chicks there and then green stripes too! Of course I did notice that the handle was slightly imperfect – but as you know by now, that didn’t bother me one bit! Click Here to find similar pieces.
Halloween Cup
I love a good good vintage graphic and this old waxed Halloween cup will make the perfect addition to one of my Halloween set ups later this year. I can just see it paired with all of my Halloween witch gurley candles! Click Here to shop similar vintage paper Halloween cups.
Saved The Best For Last
Of all the pieces that I got, this is my favorite. This set of little drawers are the perfect color and has the perfect amount of naturally chippy paint. Every detail, including the drawer pulls are just so charming to me. I can not wait to use it around the house! I searched high and low for something similar online but wasn’t able to find anything that looked like this piece. My best suggestion if you want one of these for your own is to check your local antique malls and markets!
One More Thing
I do have one more piece but I wasn’t able to photograph it today! Check with me over on Instagram stories where I will be sure to share it over there soon!
Wrap Up
I sure did enjoy my time at Vintage Pickin! And, although the antique and vintage finds are so so good, the very best part is getting to reconnect with friends and having the opportunity to meet so many like minded people in one place!
If you enjoyed this post all about my antique and vintage finds then you may want to check out my finds from the last Vintage Pickin trip that I did back in October! You can see that here.

I am often asking myself “do I really need another crock?” And I always answer yes. They are my very favorite thing to collect. I love your haul! Beautiful pieces ❤ I look forward to your emails every week and frequently visit your instragram. So much inspiration and beauty. We live in a throw away world and it breaks my heart.. makes me so happy to see fellow collectors sharing the same passion that I have for giving old trinkets new life. Thank you for sharing!
