Did you know that you need concrete decor in your life? Well, I am here to tell ya that I think you do and today I am sharing 5 of my favorite concrete pieces that I love finding!
I am always on the hunt for unique and cozy concrete decor to add in and around my home. For as long as I can remember, I have been on the hunt for the perfect concrete treasure (big or small) because I feel that concrete adds they both warmth and texture to most any space. From outdoor planters to indoor statues, if a piece of concrete has the right ‘look’ then I will scoop it up! And, I have been fortunate enough to have found some really cool concrete pieces over the years. I am always out digging around for cool concrete decor (thanks to my small antique business) and I have seen some really amazing pieces over the years. With this in mind, I am sharing 5 concrete decor items that I think would be great additions to YOUR home.
Concrete “Pedestals”
I really enjoy using unique finds to use as risers and whenever I can find a unique concrete ‘pedestal’ I grab them. I am not sure if that is the proper name for them – but that is what I call them! Anything concrete that can be used to raise up another object! I have also used concrete bird bath bases as ‘pedestals” as well. Remember that bird bath bases can be a good option!
Here is another quick example – this one looks like a mini bird bath – but you can see that I used it as a pedestal/riser too! I feel it adds interest and texture very easily.
Concrete Vessels (Urns, Planters And Anything In Between)
I feel like this is a given, but I want to drive the point home – concrete vessels are so very versatile and when you can find ones with great age and patina then it is an added bonus! These old pieces can be found in all sorts of shapes and sizes (from huge and heavy outdoor planters to smaller dainty head planters) they can be used both inside and out and can hold all sorts of things. I love the unique ones best – ya know – the ones with age and lots of chippy paint!
Fun story – A few years ago, I bought the biggest old cement basket at an estate sale! I have since sold it, but I love using them (especially during spring) to hold all sorts of things. If you follow along with me on Instagram stories (you can follow me here), you may remember me pulling a huge cement basket out of the ground at an estate sale. I used it in an Easter display – and I loved it – and so did many of you! Don’t ever overlook those old cement baskets – they are perfect for spring!
Concrete Cupids
I recently purchased the coolest concrete cupid planter ever. I was so happy to grab it because of its size and the character. Also, with Valentines’s Day right around the corner, I feel like this is the perfect concrete piece! If you like cupids then you need to know that not only are there concrete planters out there, but you can also find some very charming vintage cupid statues that would work great on any tabletop! I have found several over the years that were actually parts of a bird bath …so be on the lookout!
Concrete Statues
These old concrete statues come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and are not usually hard to find. There is a wide variety of statues out there too – there are all kinds of ‘things’ from angels to (as my son says) fancy ladies. A good tip too is to look that the ‘tops’ of bird baths and fountains – I have used a lot of these “toppers” as decor over the years! Personally, I like to use these ‘statues’ outside in the garden but I know several people who place them in their homes!
Concrete Balls
I have only ever had one set of these and I scooped them up at first glance. These (concrete/stone mixed) balls sat at the end of my driveway for many years, along side two huge chippy urns. I sold them (after a lot of debate) back in 2020 and I kind of regret it! I love how unique they are. Oh, and FYI, they are super heavy!
Also …
I also want to mention that I LOVE to snag any cool looking concrete animals when I find them, both big and small. If it has a great look then it is coming home with me. And, if it has some great chippy paint then that is a bonus. So far, my favorite concrete animals to buy included:
My most recent concrete decor purchase is a HUGE and HEAVY duck … wearing the cutest little top hat. He will be coming with me to the pasture sale in March.
And …
Lastly, I love a good concrete mushroom. I have had several that I have sold over the years – they are so much fun and add a moment of whimsy to any space!
Old & New
While I prefer older aged pieces of concrete, I have found many great new concrete pieces too. I usually just lead with my heart and if I like the look of a piece I will grab it, no matter what it’s age.

Old Concrete Decor
Fun Fact: I found this little bit of information online and I thought it might help clear up any confusion! “Although the terms cement and concrete often are used interchangeably, cement is actually an ingredient of concrete. Concrete is a mixture of aggregates and paste. … Therefore, there is no such thing as a cement sidewalk, or a cement mixer; the proper terms are concrete sidewalk and concrete mixer.”
Wrap Up
With Spring right around I have been scooping up a lot of concrete items and that is what inspired this post. I hope that this gives you just a few ideas as you are searching for unique pieces for your home. Cheers to all the great concrete pieces out there just waiting for new homes!
