Yesterday was arguably one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Black Friday is definitely a time to get a jump start on your Christmas Shopping and I indeed chipped a few gifts off of my list! Now, I do want to say that Mark and I do enjoy gifting ‘experiences’ for our kids each Christmas, but we do also enjoy having some gifts under the tree for the kids to open on Christmas morning! Last night, I spent some time slowly surfing the web for gifts and I enjoyed taking advantage of the down time from the comfort of my couch! Some gifts that I bought were on sale and others were not, but I was happy to go to bed with a few gifts checked off my list last night.
Below I am sharing 5 gifts that I have purchased so far for each of the people in my family. My hope is that this post will give you a few ideas – especially if you have someone on your list that is similar in age to my loved ones.
Mark
Mark is so easy to shop for because he is happy with any gift. However, he is also very difficult to shop for because he doesn’t need or ask for much! With that in mind, I usually try to get him a combo of practical things and things that he needs (think socks)! What that being said, we do always like to get Mark a funny gag gift! Because he is a big kid after all!
Rhenna
Rhenna is my child who never asks for much and is very thoughtful about the things that she does ask for. With that in mind, I really pay close attention all year long at the things that she mentions while we are out shopping.
Cooper
Cooper loves Christmas and he loves to give gifts as much as he likes to receive them. Just like his dad, he is happy with anything. He is quite literally happy with anything!
Porter
Porter is such a unique child. He is very practical and it seems to be getting worse as he gets older – HA! This year, Porter put two things on his list: gift cards and books – I am not kidding. I have had to be a little creative and think outside of the box a bit. While I plan to give him a gift card – I do want him to have gifts under the tree to open as well.
Wrap Up
Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior and being grateful for our most precious gift, Jesus, is indeed the most important part of this season. We always try to lead with this each and every holiday season but I do really enjoy gifting my family during the holidays. It is one of my very favorite things to do. I do not buy them many ‘things’ throughout the year, so the items that I choose to gift them on Christmas morning are very appreciated. And, thanks to the purchases above, I would say that I have a really good head start on our shopping! Oh, and SHHHH, please do not tell them what they are getting this year.
No matter what you chose to gift your loved ones this season, let’s not forget that time together and memories made with friends and family are always the best part of the season … and isn’t that the true meaning of the holidays after all!
