The Most Important Message
While we can all agree that it is a lot of fun to decorate with our Easter bunnies and to eat all of the yummy candy that come with the season, I think that we can also all agree that Easter is about so much more. With that in mind, I wanted to share something with you all. My son was introduced to this amazing video at school (my three kids attend a local Christian School) and I have to admit that I cried when I saw it. And I bet that this will move you too. Click here to see a fantastic Easter message! Please let me know what you think of it! And – feel free to pass it along to your friends and family!
Candy Alternatives for Easter Baskets
As you may know, most days we don’t eat a lot of sugar around here. However, Easter morning my kids DO wake up to a basket full of candy – thanks to the Easter Bunny (wink, wink)! I realize that there may be a few of you who might be interested in some alternatives to Easter to candy to fill those baskets! I poked around a little bit and found a link to a few recent articles that listed a ton fo cool ideas for kids and adults! (I am hanging on to some of these ideas for teacher gifts for sure!)
Peeps Cookie Coop
The kids and I decided to do a little craft today! We made these Peeps Cookie Coops and while there were a few broken pieces inside the unopen boxes, the kids still enjoyed it. We did have to use a hot glue gun to connect a few of the pieces – but it still was a ton of fun. If you like to make gingerbread houses then you will enjoy these Cookie Coops as well!
Easter Egg Grass Options
Have you ever wanted another option to fill your Easter baskets – other than the typical plastic Easter grass that you find at the big box stores. Here are a few other ‘grasses’ that I have used in the past!
- Shredded sheet music
- Natural Excelsior
- Wheat Grass (Make Your Own)
- Crinkle Cut Paper
- Dried Moss
Our Easter Dinner Menu
This year we are celebrating Easter here at home and I am excited to cook a great meal for the family! Here is what we will be having! What are you having?
- Caprese Salad Skewers
- Cauliflower Gratin
- Mashed Sweet Potatoes
- Easter Ham
- Mango Berry Fruit Salad
- Strawberry Cheesecake Fluff
P.S.
From my family to yours – May you have a very Happy Easter

That video was so amazing. I cried as it was read backwards and it does make you realize why it is called good Friday, which I always did wonder about that being called “good”. I am sharing this with the pastor at my church. I live in a small village in New England and our little country church only has about 90 members, but it has the biggest heart I have ever witnessed. Unfortunately have not been able to attend for the last year due to my compromised immunity, but my second vaccine shot is this Sunday and after 3 weeks I will be able to go back in person and what a joyous day that will be.
God Bless,
Tiffany-Grace Walls
