Do you like to switch things up around the house? Sharing this easy shelf styling refresh highlighting the cutest pheasant!
This elegant little guy can add a touch of sophistication to any shelf, whether it’s in your living room or your office. I am sharing what I used to create this unique look! It only took a few moments and in no time I had a completely new look on these shelves!
If you know me at all then you know that I really do not care for birds. I have spent years and years fighting them off of my front porch and I have just come to dislike them … up close anyway! But … I do still love to admire them from a distance. And …. I do still like to add the occasional ‘faux’ bird here and there around the house when I find on that I like! That is just what happened recently! I found the cutest, most charming pheasant (click here to see him up close) in the whole world and I wanted to share him with you.
I ran to Michaels a few days ago to grab some crafting supplies and this sweet dapper fellow happened to catch my eye. He is part of their new fall tabletop decor line and I was just drawn to him for some reason. The best part is that it turns out that he is under $15.00 bucks! At that price I knew that I just had to get him and style him up. And I knew that I wanted to find just the right shelf to put him on!
I mean, I do love to style a shelf! And the good thing is that shelf decorating does not have to be difficult. With a little creativity, you can easily transform a shelf into a work of art. To create this look, I simply decided where I wanted my pheasant on the shelf and arranged my other things around him. I tried to create a cohesive look by sticking with 2 main colors for the other pieces that I used: greenand brown. I varied the heights of the other pieces that I used and I added “interest” and “texture” with things like greenery.
This is very first ‘fall specific’ item that I have purchased (only because it was from Micheals fall line) this year and while it is still too early (in my opinion) to think about fall, I do feel that this particular bird is sort of time timeless and can work year round! There are a lot of ‘birds’ out there to choose from but this particular guy has got a great vintage look and won’t break the bank. Best part too is that he is a versatile nurtural color so he can work in a variety of spaces.
What do you think of my new little pheasant! Isn’t he the cutest! I hope that when you are out and about and you happen to see something that speaks to you that you’ll snag it and work it in to your home – in YOUR own way! And, I have found that shelf decorating is a great way to add these “personality pieces’ into your home. With just a little effort, you can easily create a beautiful and unique space that reflects your style and personality.
I searched around the web and found only a few pheasants out there! You can click on each photo below to learn more about each of these.
If you want recreate my specific look then here are a couple of other items that I used in this space as well! And remember – always be on the lookout at your local antique shops for items like these as well!
