Who doesn’t love a good Dollar Tree flip? I am sharing this Simple Dollar Tree Ghost Transformation just in time for Halloween!
Last week I spent some time finishing up a project that I was really excited to do. I can not wait to share the details of this super simple Dollar Tree ghost transformation … and it only involved a few materials!
If you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to add a few seasonal touches to your Halloween decor, then I have got you covered! These sweet ceramic ghosts caught my eye a few weeks ago at the Dollar Tree but the only problem was that there was only one left in stock at my local Dollar Tree. I needed a few more of these cute ceramic ghosts to complete the vision that I had floating around in my head. (If you know me then you know that I like things ‘in mass’ lots of the time.)
So, I asked for my friend Rob to help me find a few more since he lives north of me in the Atlanta area. He discovered that you can just order online at Dollar Tree for most in store items and that is just what we did! (FYI – these ghosts are currently out of stock online at the moment. I am so sorry.)
While I waited for the order of ghosts to arrive, I went to Home Depot and choose my spray paint colors. I knew that I wanted to paint these ghosts in a variety of neutral shades. I didn’t want them all to look totally different, rather I wanted to add interest and dimension to the group of them by using a variety of slightly different colors – if that makes sense!
The colors I chose include:
Quick Tip:
If I were to do this project again, I would recommend using a primer on each of the ghosts before applying the paint. I think this would allow for a more even coverage. As you can see in the photo above, some of the paint coverage on these ghosts turned out a little uneven. But – I didn’t mind too much. In fact, this ghost looks like it has spooky veins!
I gave each ghost a few coats throughout the course of a warm and sunny day and within a few hours these cuties were ready to come inside. I loaded them into a plastic tote and I carried them inside to begin the process of staging them among my ironstone!
Wrap Up
With a handful of these sweet and inexpensive ceramic ghosts from the Dollar Tree and a few cans of spray paint, you can easily transform these everyday white ghosts into a neutral colored ghost gang that will work in almost any space. The best thing is that this super simple technique can be used with any home decor piece. For example, I am excited to see if I can find a few trees to paint for the holidays so stay tuned!
I hope this easy Dollar Tree ghost transformation inspires you and encourages you to pull out those cans of spray paint and get creative.
