I love vintage Christmas decor and today I am sharing a few of my very favorite unique vintage Christmas finds.
With the sights and sounds of Christmas beginning to fill the air, I thought that today I would share a quick little blog post showcasing 5 of my unique vintage Christmas finds. These are a handful of things that I have gathered over time that I do not see very often. In fact, I haven’t seen another of any of these items below. I think that it is so much fun to be able to sprinkle in unique pieces into my vintage Christmas collections.
Vintage Tree Light
This adorable little vintage Christmas tree lamp, which was a gift from a good friend, is something that I have not seen before. There is a little paper tree that sits on top of a straight wire with a light bulb that is attached at the base of the lamp. You can see there are some marking on the inside of the paper tree.
Like I said, this was a gift from a friend and I have never seen another. It is very fragile and while there are a few stains, it is in really good shape.
Celluloid Santa
This fragile Santa is made from celluloid which is a very thin plastic. I found him in a basement among other Christmas items – but I could tell, by his features and his weight (he is as light as a feather) that he was quite old. I have had him a very long time.
If you look closely at his back, you will see that he has the ‘made in Japan” marking embossed on his back. That also helps to identify him as being an older piece.
Snowman Family Blow Mold
I love blow molds and this very charming snow man family is not one that I have seen ever before. I was drawn to the orange and gold coloring and their charming faces. This is a piece that my friend found for me at an antique mall up in Atlanta.
There are no other marking on the back of this blow mold, other than the maker, Empire.
Mercury Glass Candy Canes
I was so very happy to find these little candy canes last winter. They are mercury glass and are also very fragile. I bought four of them last winter and none of them are in perfect condition. I didn’t mind though – I was very happy to have them, even with little nicks and dings!
If you look at the edges of these candy canes then you can see where that have suffered damage – they are literally ‘rough around the edges.” But, the beauty of their colors and the age of the mercury glass totally distract the eye from their imperfections. I believe them to be from around the 1930s and to have been made my the Kentlee Co.
Santa
This old Santa was another gift from a very dear fiend. She had a little shop and would put this out every year and when she closed her antique shop she gave it to me. I guess my pals do realize how much I love and adore old Christmas items! While there are no markings on this old Santa, I believe him to be mid 1900s and most likely made in Japan. (His bright blue eyes may even suggest that he was made in Germany – ha – but I truly do not believe that to be the case.)
He is constructed very much like a knee hugger elf and he even has a little section of thread atop his head that was used to hang him from the tree long ago.
Wrap Up
I love having a few ‘harder to find” vintage Christmas items in my collection. If I am being honest, I am always on the lookout for something that may be ‘rare’ to add to my old collection! Do you have any unique vintage Christmas finds at home – if so, I want to know! Let me know what it is in the comments below and I will share them in my IG stories! I hope this inspires you to get out there and to begin hunting for all sorts of great Christmas items that you are drawn to – new or old! Happy hunting my friends!
Around The Web
I went ahead did a little search around the web for a few of the unique vintage Christmas finds that I shared above! I found everything something similar to each item I shared above – except the lamp. To find out more about each piece, simply click the image.

I love this post! I love unique finds, especially vintage Christmas! My fav is your paper tree! So so special! My most unique is a teeny angel my mom found for me in what I think is her original “German Republic” box. I have never seen another like her.

I love the mercury glass candy canes! I have a set of 3 green ceramic Tom & Jerry mugs, stamped “Japan” that I found a few years ago. I have searched for info on them and can’t find anything on them. I’m guessing like your finds, these are just pretty rare vintage Christmas finds. Yay!!!
