I am listing a few of the top vintage Saint Patrick’s Day decor items that you should be buying NOW before it is too late! Over the years I have managed to collect a handful of cool vintage St. Paddy day things and I am sharing them with you below! Don’t wait because these fun finds do not last long!
As you know by now, I do love to add touches of seasonal and holiday decor in and around my home. I am always filled with anticipation as the next ‘big day’ approaches! And, with Valentine’s Day behind us and with spring on the horizon, I am all ready to bring out the vintage St. Patricks Day decor! Now, I know that once Valentine’s Day is behind us it can be easy to jump right into flowers and bunnies, but there is one little holiday that I love that is ahead of all that – and I want to talk about it with you!
St. Patrick’s Day isn’t too far away and I am excited to jump into this blog post and share with you a few of the things that I love to decorate with. While it isn’t a ‘huge’ holiday, I do feel that it is one that deserves a bit of attention – mainly because the decor is so stinkin’ cute! (Remember, I am a vintage home decor lover so this should make total sense!)
While it’s cute, I have found that vintage Saint Patrick’s Day decor is NOT abundant and with that in mind I wanted to share with you the things you should be buying NOW – before someone else scoops it up. Like I explained in this Valentine’s Day post, these things sell out quickly so if you want to add a few charming St. Patrick’s day pieces to your home, then I suggest you start hunting right away. These things tend to sell out quickly, so scoop them up when you see them.
Vintage Saint Patrick’s Day Decor
My hope is that I can point you in the right direction as you begin thinking about your St. Patricks Day decor. With that, let’s jump in and talk about some of the St. Patrick’s Day decor I think you are really going to love!
Antique & Vintage Postcards
Old Post cards are probably one of the easiest things to find if you want to add a little St. Patricks Day touch to your home. I usually see these in our local antique malls this time of year and they are usually not more than a few bucks! That’s a win! Decorating with them doesn’t have to be hard either! You can simply tuck an old postcard onto a shelf along with other things or pop one into a flower frog so that they stand upright and let it shine all by itself!
In case you didn’t know: If the postcard was mailed long ago then you can check the ink mark from the Post Office to help you date a postcard! The date is usually stamped right on the post card!
Antique & Vintage Greeting Cards
Because I am a sucker for vintage graphics, I really love old greeting cards. Usually, these cards will have very cool illustrations and these charming pictures can add the perfect little St. Patrick’s Day touch. You can find vintage greeting cards in a variety of sizes and shapes and, like post cards, they aren’t usually very expensive. As I have mentioned many times before, it is important to remember that the price will depend on age, condition, and how scarce/unique it is.
Cloverdale Bottles
These old bottles are so very cool. The green color is just perfect for the season and the fact that the bottle has a clover on it is just an added bonus. I tuck these bottles almost anywhere – for just a little pop of green.
Clover Cookie Cutters
I love a good cookie cutter – but themed cookie cutters them even better! And – what could be more perfect than a clover cookie cutter? I really enjoy using them this time of year – especially in the kitchen!
Shamrock Cake Toppers
These may surprise you but vintage cake toppers are also a quick and easy way to add a little St. Paddys Day touch. Pop them in a little crock or into a flower frog for a quick and easy shamrock display. They are sure to make you smile!
Shamrock Dishes
I love a good shamrock this time of year – who wouldn’t! And … I have managed to gather a pretty decent collection of shamrock dishes that are perfect for the season. I like to tuck them in with my ironstone! I started with just ONE piece – you don’t have to have a lot to make a statement.
Clover Atlas Jar
I love the subtle embossed four-leafed clover on these old atlas jars – this is the perfect old piece! These are easy to style and can be used year round as well. Also, if you find one of these then know that an embossed four-leafed clover image with “GOOD LUCK” on a Hazel-Atlas fruit jar indicates that the jar was made between the years 1921 and 1956.
Any Shamrock Or Clover Graphic:
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for shamrocks and clovers on all sorts of things while you are out shopping – any time of year! Things like Irish Coffee Mugs, McCoy Pitchers, and Little Clover Thread Cutters are other ‘non-seasonal’ items that come to mind right now! I like to buy these things year round and I tuck them into my tote for the next St. Patrick’s Day. These items come to mind!
Any Green Touches
Last but not least, I usually incorporate simple green touches here and there – and it’s a fast and easy way to decorate for St. Patrick’s Day! The best part is that you can do this without spending a dime. Simply search your own home for things you may already have. For example, you could use items such as:
- green books
- green planters
- green tins
- green mixing bowls
This list can go on and on! Get creative and search your home and see what you can come up with!
Online Options:
My favorite part of having these items in my personal collection is the actual act of finding them. However, I am aware that there are those of you who may not be able to find some of these vintage things in person. With that in mind, I thought I would include a few online options for you all. Just click on each picture for more details!
Wrap Up
As you can see, the items that I love to use this time of year do not have to be over the top! In fact, most of these items are quite subtle yet still offer a festive touch around our home. And … I am sure you will agree, green is such a great color to work with!
I hope that this blog post has inspired you to begin thinking about all of the ways that you can incorporate a little bit of vintage Saint Patrick’s Day decor into and around your own home. The best thing is that you can embrace your own style completely and you can incorporate as much or as little as you’d like … it is totally up to you! I also hope that you will share your St. Patrick’s Day spaces with me as you begin to create them. You can tag me on instagram at @myweatheredhome or you can use my hashtag #myweatheredwares! I can not wait to see what you all create and I am looking forward to being inspired by YOU! Happy hunting – and decorating – to each of you!

Love your ideas! I love vintage Irish Coffee mugs. I have a set of gold Hall China cups in my shop. They are so cool, like the gold at the end of the rainbow. 💚
