Now that warmer weather is here to stay, it is time to get back to spending time outside. Our family loves the spring season and being outside as much as possible. So, today I worked on a little outdoor space today! Let’s kick off this season with my vintage spring porch mini tour!
Today was the day! The day to dust off those outdoor pillows, throw down the outdoor rug, and add in a few green plants to our back porch! There is nothing quite like outdoor living in the spring here in Georgia! And today I enjoyed working on my vintage spring porch! Making this space cozy and inviting only took a few minutes, but it really does make the back porch seem more inviting! Below I am sharing a few of my ‘must-haves’ for this space! Come on, let’s take a mini tour!
Seating
Our one and only bench that we have out here is an Antique Store find. But, I can tell you that the piece is not old at all. *I can tell by the wood and the screws that were used. But, at only $60.00 the price was right for us! The bench was originally brown, but I painted it the same color as the house. I love the way the bench blends in with the siding!
Table
I have always enjoyed vintage outdoor sets. I like the imperfections that come with these pieces and I feel as though the rusted spots and the weathered patina add so much character to a space. Here I used a perfectly weathered little white outdoor table that I picked up at an estate sale a few years back. It is just the right size for this little space!
Outdoor Pillows
Y’all, I have to tell you all a little secret. Walmart has the BEST selection of inexpensive outdoor pillows. That is where these gray outdoor pillows came from and they are fantastic. I did buy these last year and I can not find them online at the moment, but you can Click here to look around at all of their outdoor pillow options that Walmart has to offer!
Outdoor Rug
Ok – another quick tip – you can find crazy affordable little outdoor (and indoor) rugs at 5 Below. I found this gray and white one there last year and we love it! I have to be honest, these are not going to last forever … but for $5.00 … I feel like it is okay to have to replace them. I will say, I do have my eye on this outdoor rug – I love that gray and white!
Weathered Pots
Old weathered pots are the perfect way to add a little charm to your vintage spring porch! They are usually pretty affordable and are usually easy to find. Check your local antique malls and vintage markets for old pots – especially during the spring season!
Plants & Flowers
I get most of my flowers and plants from Pikes, Home Depot, and Lows. Occasionally I will also find great options at Walmart too. This beautiful pink and purple hanging basket really just adds such a spring touch to this porch!
Fill The Blank Space
Here I used the coolest set of old windows that I picked up at an estate sale to fill some of the empty wall space behind the bench. I love the height that they add to the space as well as the interest that they add. The weathered chippy paint really just really draws me in. It is super easy to doll these old windows up too. Here I simply added this eucalyptus garland but you could add a wreath or a even an old sign as well! The possibilities are endless.
Weathered Touches
I do like to add a few weathered touches to most of the spaces in and around my home. Here, on my little vintage spring porch, I used a few old weathered watering cans and a really cool weathered cement bunny. To me, these are the little subtle added pieces, regardless of your style, that help to make a space feel more like … HOME!
Wrap Up
This really is the most wonderful time of the year here in Georgia! Spring is a time when we can enjoy spending some time outside without the extreme heat and humidity and those of us who live here take advantage of the season for sure. I hope you enjoyed my vintage spring porch mini tour. I hope this inspires you to get outside and create an outdoor area that YOU love, no matter what your style!
