I love it when the fall season begins to creep into our home and I love the way this simple fall cabinet styling is turning out!
It is official! Fall is here in our home and I am bringing out all the fall leaves, warm colors, and lots of texture. These fall feels are just what this cabinet needs to help welcome in the new season here in our eating area.
Last week I was strolling through a local antique store and I discovered these magical copper pumpkins. I wasn’t quite sure where I would use them – but I knew they were the perfect color for our kitchen area. During that same “antique store shopping trip,” I also found this copper basket which not only matches the pumpkins nicely but it also fits inside the cabinet perfectly! I love it when I can find pieces that I just know will work well together in a vignette! Needless to say, I found the perfect spot for these new items for sure!
I decided to use these new pieces along with other pieces that I had on hand to create this simple fall view inside our large white cabinet in the kitchen. This old cabinet is one of my very favorite pieces in our home and I love to style it in various way for all seasons (tap here to see another fall view) but I love to decorate it for fall most of all!
After I discovered that the copper basket would fit in the bottom perfectly, I decided to fill the basket with a mix of cutting boards, leaves, and pinecones! I added one of those amazing copper pumpkins too! Then, I just “worked my way up” to complete the look inside this cabinet!
Next, I added in this old wild turkey print that I found at a thrift store and I decided to hang it in an unexpected location. I hung it lower than normal and it fits in that spot like a glove. Not only do the colors work well but the print also adds so much interest – it was the perfect piece to fill in that area of the cabinet.
After I hung the wild turkey print, I then worked on filling the little chippy cabinet (yes, I have a cabinet inside a cabinet). I used a variety of small little treasures in a neutral fall color pallet that I felt would work well with the other pieces I had added. I used:
- a brass trinket cup
- a restaurant ware soup cup
- an antique brass door knob
- a few small copper pieces
- an antique clock
- stoneware ink wells
- small copper pumpkin
- dried hydrangea blooms
This cabinet sits right beside our back patio door and beside our main eating area so when I am decorating it I need to be sure that I do not carried away. I like to keep things minimal around the cabinet so that I can close the doors (for safe passage) if I want to. As you can see here, I only added a small antique stool with a little pumpkin on top!
The last thing I added to this area is this grapevine wreath. It is a simple and inexpensive find (I found mine here for only a few dollars). And, especially during the fall season, the more “wire-y” it is the better! If you like to decorate for fall with grapevine wreaths like I do and if you need some ideas then check these items out!
I probably need to mention this old piece that I have hanging on the wall just left of the cabinet. This is an old antique paddle. I assume it was an old cooking tool at one point and I usually have it hanging there year round – it is defiantly a “conversation” piece!!!!
And that is it! That is my simple fall cabinet styling in a nutshell! The best part is that it only took me a few minutes to throw together – once I had the proper pieces to work with!
I hope this has inspired you to get creative with your simple fall cabinet styling. With a few simple faux stems and a few faux pumpkins (for now), you can easily add the fall vibe into your home!
